Hardware Development Intern / Working Student (m/f/d)

Intern / Student, Full or part-time · Tübingen
Your mission
  • Test and integrate new hardware components (line scan camera, encoder, frame grabber, step motor, etc.)
  • Support assembly of custom machines (robotics, pneumatic handling, etc.)
  • Support assembly of electronic components (connectors, cables, etc.)
  • Support CAD design process
  • Support of our project managers in the conception and design of image processing systems
Your profile
  • You are currently pursuing or are a graduate of a bachelor’s/master’s degree in mechatronics or a related field
  • You have a strong passion for startups
  • You are confident in at least one of the following areas including its relevant tools/frameworks and are willing to independently further your knowledge:
    • First experience in Python
    • First experience in microcontrollers (for example Arduino)
    • First experience in CAD
  • You demonstrate a pro-active work ethic: goal-driven, independent, and structured
  • You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with our business and tech teams
  • You already have relevant work experience such as internships or co-developing open-source projects (this is a plus!)
  • You own a car (this is a plus!)

About us
Our product, Maddox AI, is an AI-based visual quality control solution, which can automate manually performed quality inspection for manufacturing companies. Maddox AI is an asset-light SaaS solution, which addresses those visual inspection tasks that are still performed manually, as conventional (=rule-based) computer vision methods fail. In product development, we closely collaborate with leading AI researchers from the Cyber Valley. Prof. Dr. Matthias Bethge, Prof. Dr. Alexander Ecker and Dr. Wieland Brendel have been researching in the field of machine learning and computer vision for years and are part of our founding team.
